Rondane autumn promotion

Spend 3 or more nights at Rondane River Lodge between 18.08.25 and 05.10.25 to enjoy the fantastic autumn colours. It's the best time of the year for combining a nice hike with berry or mushroom picking and to enjoy our wood-fired sauna on a chilly evening. Including 3 nights in a cosy hotel room, half board, free of charge use of the sauna and canoe rental.

 

Day 1:

The hosts welcome you at Rondane River Lodge and inform you about the program for the next days. Check-in from 15h00 at your cosy hotel room and enjoy a home-made 3 courses welcome dinner in the restaurant.

 

Day 2:

After our tasty a la carte breakfast it's time to set off for a nice self-guided hike in the Rondane mountains. We have several hike descriptions at your disposal depending on your interest and can advise the best spots for berry or mushroom picking too. Are you up for a challenge? Autumn is often the best time of the year to hike up the 2000m summits in the national park such as Rondeslottet or Høgronden. Or what about combining a scenic drive along the Rondaneveien and Grimsdalsveien with spotting the iconic musk ox in Dovrefjell National Park? The choice is yours!

 

Always wanted to learn more about mushrooms? Join our optional mushroom hike in the forest together with a local guide! You will learn about the magical world of mushrooms and how it connects our planet. After this hike you will be able to tell apart the tasty culinary mushrooms from their lookalikes, learn about preserving them for winter and some easy recipes for you to cook at home. At the end of the hike you will take home the mushrooms you have collected! This activity is suited for all ages ( children under supervision of parents) and fitness levels.

 

Day 3:

After a good nights sleep and breakfast, you are welcome to use our canoes free of charge. You start right at our doorstep and can paddle about 4km one way on Vulua river and Setningen lake to a secluded shelter. It's a perfect lunch spot and we can arrange a grilling package if you want to light the fire and enjoy Norwegian 'friluftsliv' at its best.

 

Before or after dinner we prepare our wood-fired sauna for you. Enjoy the relaxing warmth and let a refreshing dip in the river cool you down again. The use of the sauna is private and for a supplement of 1500 NOK we can heat the hot-tub as well. Towels, bathrobes, slippers, fresh spring water and a bowl with fresh fruit are included.

 

Day 4:

Last breakfast and time to say goodbye to the Norwegian mountains.

Please notice the order of the activities can be changed depending on availability. You get the final schedule upon check-in.

 

This program is based upon transportation with your private vehicle. We can arrange transfers to the train station in Atna or Ringebu and to the various activities for a surcharge.

 

You are welcome to extend the package with 1 or more nights and add more optional activities according to your wishes.

 

Cancellation policy:

You can cancel free of charge until 2 weeks before arrival.

No refund when cancelling less than 2 weeks before arrival.
